Hello, my name is Noel.
I have taught mathematics in public schools, in grades 7-12, for ten years. I enjoy getting my students to understand math concepts that they have struggled with for some time. My percentage of students passing the NYS assessments is above a 90%.
I have tutored students that were taking: 7th grade math classes, ASVAB testing for the U.S. Armed forces, after-school additional instruction, and I am also beginning to tutor students online.

A truly valuable, competent and engaging math tutor
Noel S. has been working with my son since March of 2013. He helped with Regents Algebra last year and will be working on Regents Geometry this year. My son is not a big fan of tutors. Following his very first meeting with Noel, however, he told me that Noel was "pretty cool" (a HUGE compliment coming from my son), and that he helped him understand the material very well. My son is always eager to meet with Noel, which I cannot say about past tutors. At my request, Noel was willing to meet with my son over summer vacation a few times to keep his math brain charged up over the break. I cannot say enough positive things about this gentleman. He is affable, competent in his field, extremely patient and thoroughly engaging. He always has a positive attitude and truly enjoys teaching. He is also flexible with regard to scheduling sessions. My son's grades and confidence in math took a giant leap when Mr. S. arrived. Every once in a while, there is a teacher who makes a difference in the trajectory of a student's path. I believe wholeheartedly that Noel S. is one of those teachers.
