Hi there! My name is Paige and I am an experienced 1-6 educator committed to helping elementary students build confidence, master core subjects, and develop a love for learning. I hold a Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and a minor in Deaf Studies. Next month I will be beginning my masters in Childhood and Early Childhood Curriculum and Instruction at Buffalo State University. Throughout my schooling I completed two student teaching placements in addition to four fieldwork and observation placements.
My approach to online tutoring is built on two and a half years of hands-on experience managing various elementary school classrooms as a substitute teacher. Working as a substitute teacher has allowed me to learn so much such as stepping into a new classroom, connecting with students, and finding techniques to keep them both focused and engaged. I not only help students complete classwork; I have ample experience in meeting students where they’re at. I know how to pin point where students are stuck, adapt to their learning style, and break down core subjects in a way that helps students fully understand the concepts and thrive! Whether your student needs support with phonics, reading, writing, grammar, or reading comprehension, I design each lesson around what they need.
Online tutoring is definitely a new experience for me but I’m excited to bring my classroom experience to the screen! I know how to keep lessons patient, energetic, creative, and most importantly at the student’s own pace and I will do the exact same in our online sessions. I focus on making the digital space comfortable and interactive for students by using visual tours and positive encouragement.
