Hi there! I’m Haley, and I’m an incoming graduate student at Harvard, where I’ll be studying education policy. Before that, I graduate magna cum laude with honors in Anthropology from Wake Forest University. While at Wake Forest, I worked in the University Writing Center, helping undergraduate and graduate students with everything from brainstorming ideas to polishing a thesis or final draft. What I loved most was watching students discover their own voice and leave with skills they could carry into any class or project.
After college, I spent two years teaching first grade in Hawai‘i through Teach For America. My classroom was a mix of learners with many different strengths, and I focused on building strong foundations in literacy and phonics. More importantly, I worked hard to make learning fun and engaging, whether that meant turning lessons into games, asking big questions that encouraged critical thinking, or simply celebrating the small wins together.
Because of these experiences, I feel comfortable working with a wide range of students—whether you’re just starting out with reading and writing or refining complex essays. My goal is always to make tutoring supportive, enjoyable, and practical. I want you to feel more confident, more creative, and better equipped to tackle your next assignment on your own.
