I earned an 800 on SAT Math, reached USA Computing Olympiad Gold, completed AP Calculus BC and multivariable calculus, and spent this past summer as a fellow in Jane Street’s Academy of Math and Programming. I’m an incoming student at Yale College planning to study computer science and mathematics. I earned an 800 on SAT Math, reached USA Computing Olympiad Gold, completed AP Calculus BC and multivariable calculus, and spent this past summer as a fellow in Jane Street’s Academy of Math and Programming. I’ve also worked on machine learning research for several years, presented first-author work at NeurIPS and AAAI, and interned as a software engineer at Autodesk.
I have over 200 hours of one-on-one tutoring experience, working with students from Algebra through Precalculus across 3 countries and 7 U.S. states. What I enjoy most about tutoring is finding ways to make a subject feel more relevant. One of my students, Ty, loved football, so we started using plays, statistics, and game situations to think through the math we were learning. The concepts stayed the same, but suddenly there was something behind the numbers that he actually cared about. That experience shaped how I tutor: students learn much better when they have a reason to be curious.
I tutor SAT Math, algebra, precalculus, calculus, Python, Java, AP Computer Science, and introductory programming. Whether a student is struggling with a class or wants to go beyond the curriculum, my goal is to help them understand the material more deeply, become more independent problem solvers, and hopefully enjoy learning it a little more along the way.
