I am currently a 3rd year medical student and avid chess player (when I'm not working in the hospital). I began playing during the COVID lockdown and quickly became enamored with the game. I started studying and working to improve, and quickly began seeing results and climbing in skill. Now, after 3 years, I am >1900 rated on chess.com and >1600 USCF, putting me in the top 1% of chess players worldwide. Working with students, I believe in first keeping the love of the game, and then systematically creating an understanding of the game and its components rather than rote memorization of openings, tactical patterns, or endgame principles (though they are important). I have given several well-received lessons through Zoom and Lichess fully believe I can bring you to the next level, wherever you are now.
In addition to my experience with Chess, I am a 3rd year medical student and Bachelor's degree holder in Chemistry. Throughout undergrad I tutored in Chemistry and other subjects, and worked to provide my students with frameworks of understanding they could use to tackle any problem. I use the various disciplines I have studied now in my clinical practice on the daily and am looking forward to sharing with you how beautiful studying science can be, whether for the MCAT, an undergraduate class, or for your own learning.
