Hello, and welcome! I'm Amber, a criminal justice graduate who genuinely loves helping students understand the justice system. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from SUNY Delhi in 2020 with a 3.74 GPA. Before that, I completed my Associate of Science in Criminal Justice at SUNY Schenectady County Community College, graduating in 2017 with a 3.94 GPA. I know from experience that criminal justice classes can feel overwhelming — dense readings, court cases, and new vocabulary all at once — and I also know that with the right explanations, the material clicks and even becomes fascinating.
My background combines strong academics with real teaching experience. In my criminal justice programs, I studied criminal law, criminal procedure, criminology, corrections, policing, juvenile justice, the court system, ethics, and research methods, and I learned how to break difficult legal concepts down into clear, memorable pieces. In my professional career in operations and coordinator roles, training was central to my job: I trained new hires, cross-trained teammates, wrote step-by-step procedures, and helped coworkers master new systems and processes. That work taught me how adults learn—everyone processes information differently, and a good teacher adjusts the explanation until it lands.
As your tutor, I'm patient, organized, and practical. We'll start with exactly where you're stuck, whether that's a confusing chapter, a case brief, an essay outline, or exam review. I'll explain ideas in plain language, use real-world examples to make abstract concepts stick, and check your understanding as we go so you're never just nodding along. I can also help you build stronger study habits — organizing notes, planning review sessions, and turning a syllabus into a manageable study plan. My goal is that you leave every session clearer, calmer, and more confident than when you arrived.
