My name is Abbey, and I would love to be your tutor. I have been tutoring for over 15 years. I am a former MIT student, and I graduated from UAlbany with a BS in Mathematics and Statistics. I love tutoring. Helping my students learn and enjoy math (or any subject) is my favorite thing to do. My goal is to not only help my students be more confident in their studies but also create a fun and encouraging environment. I want my students to look forward to their tutoring sessions. I encourage all my students to text me if they have any questions about their homework. I try to be an encouraging and enthusiastic mentor for my students. :). My most popular subjects are algebra 1, geometry, algebra 2, precalc (both AP precalc and regular), calculus (both regular, AP AB & BC), and chemistry. I received a 5 on the AP BC & AB Calc exams in high school.

In addition to everything above, I am a Kaplan-trained SAT tutor. I have been tutoring SAT and ACT prep privately for over 15 years and have helped 400+ students achieve a 750+ on the SAT Math section. I am very familiar with the new digital SAT format, including Desmos strategies to help ace the digital SAT Math section. My SAT and ACT students have received admission to many top colleges, including all eight Ivy League universities, Stanford, Duke, and Northwestern.

I am very familiar with the Regents curriculum. I received a 100 on the Integrated Algebra, Algebra 2 / Trigonometry, Geometry, Chemistry, and American History Regents. I scored a 90+ on all Regents exams I took.

I have extensive experience tutoring Algebra 1, and it's one of my favorite math subjects. I tailor my teaching approach to each student's specific needs, finding the best strategy for them. Additionally, I am very familiar with TI calculators, whichallows us to use multiple methods for solving and checking answers. I am familiar with all Algebra 1 curricula, including Regents, IB, and Exeter math. Mastering algebra 1 is so important for future math classes. It is very hard to learn algebra 2, geometry, precalculus, calculus, and even the sciences with a weak algebra 1 foundation. Because of this, my goal is to make algebra 1 classes as enjoyable and educuational as possible. Loving and understanding algebra 1 is the key is succeeding in future high school math classes.

I have tutored Algebra 2 for over 15 years, accumulating over 3,000 hours of experience in the subject. It's one of my favorite subjects to teach. I possess a deep understanding of all the concepts involved and have a knack for explaining them in ways that resonate with each student's unique learning style. In addition, I'm well-versed in calculator strategies that simplify checking answers. I am familiar with all Algebra 2 curricula, including Exeter math, Regents, and IB. I firmly believe that achieving success in Algebra 2 is pivotal for a student's overall mathematical journey. My ultimate goal is to ensure that my classes are educational and enjoyable, fostering a love for math in my students.

I have 14 years of experience tutoring calculus. I've tutored it at both the high school and college level. I am also very familiar with both AB and BC AP Calculus. Calculus is one of my favorite subjects to tutor. I am familiar with all calculus curricula, including Exeter math. I can help students at any skill level. We'll not only go over calculus material but also review key concepts needed to succeed in calculus, test prep strategies for the AP, and calculator tricks.
