As an AP Scholar with a score of 5 on the AP Language and Composition exam, I tutor reading, writing, and proofreading. I focus on grammar, tone, essay structure, and text analysis to help students make consistent progress.

My experience includes two years of one-on-one tutoring with elementary students through a high school Big Little program, where I taught handwriting, spelling, reading comprehension, and sentence structure. I have also spent nine years volunteering and tutoring at GiGi’s Playhouse, where I work with children and adults with developmental disabilities, primarily Down syndrome. My teaching approach is patient, flexible, and supportive. I think positivity can go a long way, especially when a certain subject area is difficult.

My policies are straightforward and easy to follow! Please let me know at least 3 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule. If you are a prospective client looking to schedule a consultation session, please request it at least 24 hours in advance.

My consultation sessions usually last 15 to 20 minutes. They are a great chance for us to get to know each other! I charge my standard rate. If you have any homework or assignment materials you'd like to work on during our main lessons, feel free to email them to me 24 hours before our session so I can prepare. I also love sharing a quick progress update at the end of every lesson so we can celebrate your growth!

Reading

Reading long, complex texts doesn't have to be confusing! With a perfect score on AP Language and a college major in Asian Studies, I live and breathe reading analysis every day. I despised reading for 10 years, and now I help students conquer difficult passages, get A's on their exams, and actually enjoy what they read.

Want a 100+ point SAT jump? Learn from someone who was able to do it in the span of 2.5 weeks. I took the SAT six times, and was able to raise my own score by over 100 points (quickly & without having to study more than an hour or so a day). I can more specifically assist with how to beat the clock, spot trap answers, not have to re-read every passage, and keep your attention span. Prepping for the PSAT? You only get one shot at it, and a high score unlocks scholarship money (like National Merit). I can focus our prep specifically for the PSAT so you hit your score. Our sessions will be engaging and efficient. My schedule and rate is flexible, so do not hesitate to reach out to me!

Great session

Morgan was wonderful! She helped my son prepare for Model UN and his grammar quiz, making the session fun, engaging, and enjoyable. He loved working with her and asked to have another session with her afterward—which says so much! We’re so happy to have found her and highly recommend her.

Patient, Encouraging, and Effective Tutor

Morgan did an amazing job breaking down the narrative-writing process in a way my daughter could understand. My daughter has dyslexia and ADHD, so writing assignments can sometimes feel overwhelming. Morgan was patient, encouraging, and able to keep her engaged throughout the session. In just two hours, my daughter completed her very first mystery story! Seeing her feel confident and proud of her writing was wonderful. We are so grateful for Morgan’s support and highly recommend her as an ELA tutor.
