At Northwestern, I have taught Expository Writing to undergraduates, focusing on the expectations and structures of academic writing; the development of a personal and scholarly voice; and the reading and writing skills necessary for college success. I have also worked at the Graduate Writing Place, where I assisted graduate students with PhD applications, dissertation edits, job materials, and numerous other writing challenges. My individualized approach to teaching writing emphasizes how every step of the process can be used to refine ideas, strengthen communication skills, and nurture your unique and personal voice. I work to help you not only complete your current writing project, but also understand the writing process as a tool that you can employ in a variety of future contexts.
