I have been the co-editor of the literary magazine Taco Bell Quarterly (TBQ, unaffiliated with corporate Taco Bell) since 2019 and have extensive experience working one-on-one with creative writers on getting their work publishing ready. This year, the Library of Congress chose to add TBQ to their collection for its significant cultural impact.
I have my MFA in creative writing and literature from Stony Brook University (2017) and have been published and paid for my short fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. I've taught creative writing at the undergraduate and adult levels including introduction to creative writing workshops, freshman composition one and two, reading strategies, "Gagging The Inner Critic," and generative poetry workshops. I also volunteered for two years mentoring creative writers ages 13-18 at the Just Buffalo Literary Center.
In 2017, I counseled one writer on her application materials for MFA programs. She was accepted into New York University's low-residency MFA program in Paris.
In terms of formal tutoring experience, I spent one year tutoring middle, high school, and college students in English, Literature, and ADHD strategies.
I am currently earning my MS in Mental Health Counseling at D'Youville University.
