I have always believed that every child learns differently, and my goal is to make sure your student feels confident and supported every step of the way! I am a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan University, where I earned a degree in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) and Special Education (Grades K-12). I am currently preparing to start my new role as a 2nd grade teacher this coming school year! Here is some of my prior experience: 3+ years as a TA in a self-contained special education 2nd/3rd grade classroom, 2+ years as a 1:1 behavior therapist working with students with Autism/ADHD, and work as a respite care provider to clients with Autism. I have tutored students in after school programs aging 1st-6th grade, and have plenty of experience editing college application and high school essays for older grades.
When I work with students, I like to keep things interactive and encouraging. I don't just want to help your child get through their homework; I want to help them build the toolbox of skills they need to succeed on their own. Whether we are practicing sight words or tackling multi-step math problems, I aim to create a space where it is safe to ask questions, take risks, grow from mistakes, and build confidence as a learner! I am so excited to help your child reach their next big milestone.
