Hi! My name is Jessica, and I have a strong background in Early Childhood and Special Education with a passion for helping students with learning differences build confidence and succeed academically. I earned my bachelor’s degree with a double major in Early Childhood Education and Special Education and have spent my career supporting students with diverse learning needs.
I previously worked for three years as a Special Education teacher, where I developed and implemented IEPs and provided individualized reading and writing instruction based on each student’s strengths and challenges. I also spent 1.5 years at a school that specialized in supporting students with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, where I gained extensive experience working with students who learn differently.
During that time, I received training in the Wilson Reading System and developed a strong foundation in structured literacy instruction. In college, I also studied the principles of the Orton-Gillingham approach, which continues to influence how I support students with reading challenges and language-based learning differences.
Currently, I work with children and adults with disabilities and regularly review IEPs while helping families better understand and advocate for the supports their students needs in school. This experience allows me to guide students academically while also helping families navigate the educational system.
My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable, capable, and successful. I love helping students strengthen their reading, writing, and academic skills while building the confidence they need to thrive.
