I am currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering and minors in Mathematics and Computer Science. This is a field requiring a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and analytical problem solving. My coursework has given me advanced experience with topics ranging from algebra to calculus to differential equations. My academic background allows me to confidently tutor students ranging from elementary to high school students in mathematics and SAT preparations.
My tutoring journey began in high school, where I volunteered at an afterschool program helping elementary and middle school students with homework across multiple subjects. I began informally tutoring peers in mathematics and English, including helping two students raise their SAT scores. In the summer of 2024], I worked with hundreds of high school students from around the world through NYFA, where I focused on building rapport and creating a safe and engaging learning environment. In college, I have taken on leadership roles, such as serving as the electrical team lead for my robotics club, where I mentored new members, introduced them to core concepts, and guided them through hands-on learning.
I’ve worked with a wide range of students, from elementary schoolers who needed foundational support and homework help, to middle and high school students with math and test prep, to college level peers in more advanced STEM courses. My experience consists of one-on-one tutoring, group sessions, and classroom settings both in person and virtually. My approach consists of understanding the gaps in foundational skills within students by giving students simpler problems to test base knowledge before moving to complex topics. I use a step-by-step problem solving method where we work through examples together. I’ll model topics and gradually shift responsibility to the student. I also build confidence through small victories, presenting problems from easiest to hardest so students stay motivated and don’t feel overwhelmed by mistakes.
