Hi, my name is Vusumuzi H., and I am a medicinal chemist and pharmaceutical scientist. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, as well as a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same institution. I am currently working toward a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

Hi, my name is Vusumuzi H., and I am a medicinal chemist and pharmaceutical scientist. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University at Buffalo, as well as a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the same institution. I am currently working toward a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

During my time as a graduate student at the University at Buffalo, I served as a Teaching Assistant in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. I tutor students at the middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels, covering subjects such as Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Pharmacology, Medicinal Chemistry, and English Language.

Chemistry has always been a passion of mine, as I am a visual learner who enjoys the challenges science presents. Teaching is also a true calling for me; it is a privilege to help students work toward achieving their full academic potential. My background in both professional sports and academics has instilled in me the values of discipline, dedication, and perseverance, which I aim to pass on to my students. I strive to mentor and inspire students to pursue and achieve their goals.

Outside of academics, I enjoy playing and coaching tennis, running, hiking, watching theater, traveling, photography, and exploring different types of coffee. I look forward to working with you and supporting your academic journey.

Such a wonderful tutor!

Vusumuzi H. is the best tutor I have had on online platforms. He is highly responsive, even at night (which is super helpful when you want to review homework before it is due). He is very knowledgeable on Organic Chemistry topics, and allows students to talk through their thought process and think critically about problems. The discussions we have about the topics help me learn a lot. He is also very resourceful and pulls up examples through out the session. He is also very kind and personable. 100% recommend!

Amazing to work with

Starting off in Organic Chemistry without having any idea what was happening made me feel hopeless. But Vusumuzi helped me take different concepts step by step and was willing to guide me through different problems. Vusumuzi is a very knowledgeable tutor. He patiently went over the assignment with me and explained each part. He even checked my work for questions I have done on my own. I was on a time crunch because I had finals this week and he understood and wasted no time and helped me right away. Vusumuzi made time to help even though his schedule was booked, he still found time to help me understand my homework and I appreciate that about him, not many tutors care to do that.
