I'm a passionate practicing licensed professional chemical engineer and project manager. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from The Ohio State University. I am a licensed professional engineer in chemical engineering in New York State. I am a certified Project Management Professional through the Project Management Institute (PMI). I am also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Reliability Engineer through the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

I have experience tutoring college-level sophomores, juniors, and seniors while at Ohio State as an undergraduate Teaching Assistant (TA) for several years. I served as a TA and tutor for engineering Thermodynamics, Separation Processes / Unit Operations, and Design and Analysis of Experiments / Applied Statistics. Through my career I have also served as a coach, mentor, and sponsor for several interns and co-ops and I have experience coaching them through their application of engineering principles and project management skills on their projects.

My tutoring experiences range from one-on-one as a coach/mentor to group sessions as a TA. My teaching/tutoring style consists of focusing on mastering subject fundamentals and walking through applications step-by-step for students, adding context and value-added commentary along the way. As a practicing career engineer, I bring a balance of real-world applicability to help students understand why they are being taught certain subjects in their engineering curriculum. I also help students interested in challenging themselves in taking the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and/or Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.

Career Development

Career Development

I have worked in industrial manufacturing for 10+ years and have had the opportunity to coach and mentor several interns, associates, and young engineers in their careers. In my own career I have strategically mapped, researched, and executed taking roles and pursuing certifications that support and bolster my progression in my specialty. I have leveraged my personal approach to my career mapping to help young engineers and students navigate and understand steps they can take to develop focused skills and advance in their careers as well. My career development scope focuses on engineering (industrial, mechanical, chemical, manufacturing, some R&D) and project management (disclaimer - I am not a general career development coach).
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State and I served as a tutor and TA for Thermodynamics, Separations, and Process Fundamentals while in college. I have worked in the industrial food manufacturing industry for 10 years as a process and project engineer. I am a licensed chemical engineer in New York. My practical experience has been focused on plant design and process engineering for coffee, baked goods, and cereal production. I serve as an internal subject matter expert in powder and bulk solids flow, pneumatic conveyance design, and dust control design as well having extensive experience with equipment sanitary design and process optimization and balancing.
Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

I am a practicing process and project engineer in industrial manufacturing with 10 years of experience. I have held several roles and managed multiple projects focused on mechanical systems (i.e., HVAC, boilers, heat reclaim, burners, RTOs) installation, commissioning, and optimization. I am also an ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) with hands-on experience applying system and equipment-level FMEA, mechanical failure analysis, and reliability allocation and growth modeling for new production systems.
Microsoft Project

Microsoft Project

I am a professional project manager and engineer with 10+ years of industry experience. I have extensive experience using Microsoft Project for project planning, monitoring and controlling, risk management, and change management. MS Project is a powerful software platform enabling users to develop task lists, sequence work into schedules, assign resources, run reports, identify overallocations and conflicts, and use Earned Value Management (EVM). I have been using MS Project to successfully manage projects for several years and I enjoy teaching others the basic functionality and tips-and-tricks on how to leverage the platform for best results!
Project Management

Project Management

I am a PMP certified project engineer with 10 years of industry experience managing and executing capital and continuous improvement projects. I am a member of PMI and the local Buffalo (WNY) chapter. I serve as a coach and mentor to young project engineering professionals (interns, associates, junior-level engineers) with my current company and I am considered an internal subject matter expert in phased / gated project management methods as applied to capital projects.
Thermodynamics

Thermodynamics

I have a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and was a teaching assistant for Chemical Thermodynamics. I have been working in industry for 10+ years and have applied several thermodynamics principles to several projects and processing problems including psychrometrics for air humidification/dehumidifcation, applied mechanical thermodynamics for HVAC design and heat load calculations, and exothermic/endothermic reactions in food processing for energy balance and system design.
