My name is Brittney, and as a published writer, educator, and marketing professional, my unique background profoundly informs my educational approach. My goal is to guide students in developing transferable skills essential for success in adulthood.

I graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Public Health, where I researched infant developmental psychology and the neurobiological development of autism. Beyond academics, I worked in DEI and published the Ava & Mae series, a narrative-based children’s book series that teaches entrepreneurship and leadership while celebrating diversity.

Working full-time on the Ava & Mae series following graduation significantly developed my expertise in writing, business ownership, and marketing. This early career focus on brand building provided me with essential skills in creative problem-solving and self-sufficiency, which I now incorporate into my teaching philosophy, emphasizing contextual, real-world learning.

As the daughter of an educator, I’ve always loved teaching. I started my career as an author to teach children the vital skills needed to follow their dreams. Mentorship is central to my work, and my mission is to lead students to discover their full potential.

I bring a wealth of expertise to education with 5+ years of 1:1 K-12 tutoring, 6+ years as an author working at the classroom level, and 1.5 years of collegiate instructional experience. My specializations include K-12 English (focusing on narrative writing, storytelling, essay writing, and grammar), Elementary and Middle School Social Studies, and Elementary Math.

I have extensive experience supporting students with learning differences, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia. A key part of my approach is collaborative, often working closely with parents, teachers, psychologists, and psychiatrists to ensure each student's unique educational needs are fully met.

Learning is collaborative, and I welcome the opportunity to be a valuable part of your student's team.
