I am an experienced tutor who has taught more than 200 students of all levels and ages for the past six years in various subjects such as Spanish, WordPress, Mac/PC help, Microsoft Office, web and graphic design, and video editing. In early 2016, I began my tutoring journey by tutoring Spanish to undergraduate students at my university, SUNY Geneseo. As I am a native Spanish speaker myself, I was able to help students in all course levels of the language through a personalized approach that involved utilizing real-life examples instead of often confusing technical lingo. I met with students who needed an extra push twice a week, and we went over their homework and upcoming class topics so they could be prepared and ahead of the curve. After explaining the material and doing some examples myself, I let the student try it out themselves. This approach helped guide them and feel more comfortable engaging. This helping hand approach is one that I still use towards all subjects that I tutor in. It has helped my students learn and adapt to what they're learning more efficiently.
I am also a part-time graphic and web designer myself. I have designed logos and branding for music artists as a freelancer on Fiverr, various geofilters for the Snapchat application, and have designed websites for clients such as college newspapers and businesses on web hosting platforms such as Squarespace and WordPress. I also have ample experience in teaching Microsoft Office to students and have assisted students with learning how to create and save Word documents, using Excel formulas, and creating PowerPoint presentations from scratch step-by-step. I often tutor students with these software programs by guiding students by telling them where to go and what to click. This is the same approach that I use when tutoring students on how to use their PC or Mac computer.
