My name is Andriy L. I am also the founder and harpsichordist of the Ricercare Early Music Ensemble, a harpsichordist of the Hartt Colegium Musicum at Hartt School of Music, Hartford University.
I received my first Master’s and Bachelor’s Degrees from Higher State Music Institute and my second Master’s Degree in Music Composition from Mannes College, The New School for Music. At Mannes I studied composition under David Tcimpidis, and took master-classes from Jennifer Higdon.
I am an expert on early music performance, being the founder and harpsichordist of the Ricercare Early Music Ensemble and learning harpsichord and the art of figured bass from Arthur Haas. My symphony, “Berezanian Castle” won 1st place in the Mannes New Music Competition and was conducted by Michael Adelson. My pieces have been performed around Europe and North America. The Elegy of the Black Mountain was performed and recorded at Hartt School of Music by Hartt Symphony Orchestra, Edward Cumming conductor.
