Having spent over 30 years teaching and tutoring High School and College students in Physics, I pretty well understand the challenges faced by individuals trying to master what looks like a formidable topic. To give student increased confidence that they can do well, I help them learn to reframe problems and develop organized approaches to generating solutions.
I have taught Physics at a variety of levels to over 17000 students. This includes Conceptual Physics, New York State Regents Physics, Honors Physics, AP1,AP2, SAT II and Introductory College Physics. For 25 years, I have also run the intensive and immersive College Now Physics summer program at Hunter College of the City University of New York.
Recently, I was tasked with developing and reorganizing the entire Hunter College Physics Lab Program for the 1000 students who annually take the first year Physics course: both for in person and zoom labs. The New York Astronomy Association has also invited me to give presentations on Physics topics related to astronomy; eg, Light, Gravity, Energy, Optics etc.
Beyond the mere fact of remuneration, I gain great satisfaction from providing meaningful help to individuals who struggle with Physics. It is always a joy to see a student emerge from a cocoon of doubt and uncertainty into an individual who can confidently tackle what once appeared to be an challenging topic.
