Hi, I'm Jesse! I'm from Brooklyn, New York, and I'm currently a medical student at SUNY Downstate. I graduated with honors from Bowdoin College with a double major in math and English in 2016, and I completed a postbaccalaureate premedical certificate at Goucher College.
I took the MCAT in April, 2023, and I scored a 526 overall. I'm excited to use my background in teaching and test prep to accompany future medical students on their MCAT journey. I also tutor for the GRE, and I scored 170 on both the quantitative and the verbal sections when I took this exam. In addition to my work in test prep, I am also happy to help students with writing, and I have worked as a writing assistant for both undergrad and graduate students.
Since my undergrad years, I've tutored both math and writing, with students from fourth grade to grad school. I've worked for tutoring organizations as well as freelance, and I've specialized in tutoring a wide range of students for the GRE and MCAT. Between undergrad and grad school, I taught 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts in a NYC public school as a long-term substitute. This diversity of teaching experiences over the past seven years has encouraged me to target the specific needs and learning styles of each student.
