Hi! I'm Anna. I received my Bachelor's of Science degree from Stony Brook University in Biology and Mathematics. I have been tutoring students for over nine years across a wide range of subjects, including mathematics, science, and English. My experience began in a tutoring center setting, where I worked one-on-one with students of various ages, from elementary school through high school, helping them build confidence and improve their academic performance. Over time, I have also continued tutoring independently, allowing me to tailor each session to the individual needs and learning styles of my students. Currently, I continue to apply my strong foundation in science and problem-solving to help students succeed academically.
My approach to tutoring is highly personalized and focused on understanding how each student learns best. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all method, so I adapt my explanations and teaching style to ensure concepts are clear and approachable. I emphasize building a strong foundation, especially in subjects like math and science, because I have seen how critical it is for long-term success. During sessions, I break down complex topics into manageable steps, provide clear and organized notes, and reinforce learning with additional practice problems to build confidence and mastery outside of our time together.
I am passionate about teaching because I have personally experienced the impact that a supportive and effective educator can have. My goal is not only to help students complete assignments, but to ensure they truly understand the material and feel confident tackling challenges on their own. I take pride in creating a comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and grow. I look forward to helping each student reach their full potential.
