Hello! I'm Lily and I've been writing and performing music since before I can remember. I fell in love with Irish fiddle at a young age and performed with a family band early on. I got classical violin training, which supports my technique and stylistic flexibility, leading me to study violin performance (classical, Irish, Karnatic and Hindustani, jazz) and music composition at Sarah Lawrence College (2016), during which time I received the Presser Undergraduate Music Scholar Award. I am now a New Yorker and perform as a solo violin loop-pedal singer songwriter in the DIY Brooklyn music scene. I pride myself on playing as many genres as possible, including pop, country, folk, jazz, broadway, world, prog, grunge, punk, metal, ambient and new music.

I love being able to be a part of so many worlds, and I love bringing those perspectives to other people. I work with people of any and every age to develop their individual voices so they can be strong and healthy, helping them to enjoy creating, playing and singing music for the rest of their lives.

My mission is to help people express themselves as best as they possibly can. That means that they need to feel comfortable with their own instrument and imagination. Whether it's through voice lessons, violin lessons, or songwriting, the student will learn to grow their own unique strengths.

If any of this sounds helpful to you, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm looking forward to working with you!

knowledgeable and patient tutor

I have issues with singing the mixed voice. Lily helped with practicing scales to improve my full range and connect smoothly from the chest voice to the head voice. All these practices really help me to build the technique and confidence to sing professionally.

patient and great at explaining

She always notices what sparks my interest and tries to pursue that avenue to make each lesson exciting for me. it makes my learning progress very efficient. She is also very patient and ostensibly passionate about sharing and teaching music

Solid Musical Knowledge

My daughter really liked her lesson with Lily, and I could see from the parent perspective that she has really strong musical and teaching talent. My daughter wanted to sing a song and without any advanced prep, Lily was able to figure out the tune on the keyboard. Lily’s lessons are definitely worth her price point!

Wonderful tutor

Lily has been so patient, yet thorough teaching me the fundamentals of music theory. Even though it was a foreign language to me, she broke things down so that I could understand it more easily. I thought that I would never be able to get through the first piece, but I've actually played it through completely! Thanks Lily for your encouragement and guidance. I look forward to learning more.

Supportive and knowledgeable

Absolutely love Lily. I’m 25 and learning my first instrument and Lily is so good at providing both base violin and musical knowledge. And each lesson ends with an assignment I can focus on for the week so I’m not lost or aimless between sessions. She’s so encouraging, there is absolutely no stress or frustration for me when I mess up because she knows exactly how to fix what I’m doing wrong and is very gentle to correct. Also, one my first assignments is Lord of the Rings based, so she absolutely knows what I like and bases my homework off that to keep me engaged. I love her energy. I always can’t wait until my next lesson!
