Hello! I'm Lily and I've been writing and performing music since before I can remember. I fell in love with Irish fiddle at a young age and performed with a family band early on. I got classical violin training, which supports my technique and stylistic flexibility, leading me to study violin performance (classical, Irish, Karnatic and Hindustani, jazz) and music composition at Sarah Lawrence College (2016), during which time I received the Presser Undergraduate Music Scholar Award. I am now a New Yorker and perform as a solo violin loop-pedal singer songwriter in the DIY Brooklyn music scene. I pride myself on playing as many genres as possible, including pop, country, folk, jazz, broadway, world, prog, grunge, punk, metal, ambient and new music.

I love being able to be a part of so many worlds, and I love bringing those perspectives to other people. I work with people of any and every age to develop their individual voices so they can be strong and healthy, helping them to enjoy creating, playing and singing music for the rest of their lives.

My mission is to help people express themselves as best as they possibly can. That means that they need to feel comfortable with their own instrument and imagination. Whether it's through voice lessons, violin lessons, or songwriting, the student will learn to grow their own unique strengths.

If any of this sounds helpful to you, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'm looking forward to working with you!

Supportive and knowledgeable

Absolutely love Lily. I’m 25 and learning my first instrument and Lily is so good at providing both base violin and musical knowledge. And each lesson ends with an assignment I can focus on for the week so I’m not lost or aimless between sessions. She’s so encouraging, there is absolutely no stress or frustration for me when I mess up because she knows exactly how to fix what I’m doing wrong and is very gentle to correct. Also, one my first assignments is Lord of the Rings based, so she absolutely knows what I like and bases my homework off that to keep me engaged. I love her energy. I always can’t wait until my next lesson!

Patient, kind, and knowledgeable teacher

Lily is amazing! When I started taking testosterone as part of my non-binary transition a couple of years ago, my voice changed pretty rapidly and became a largely unfamiliar instrument. I found Lily after seeking out voice lessons to help me relearn how to use my voice, specifically my middle range which has a lot of breaks, which has been difficult for me. Over our past few lessons, she has given me encouragement, exercises, and challenges to help me relearn how to use my voice. I'm noticing progress and am no longer feeling defeated in my capabilities. I am so grateful and I recommend her to anyone.

Skilled and Patient Violin Tutor

I recently had my first lesson with Lily, and I can’t wait for me next one! She is such a talented instructor, so knowledgeable about what beginner violin students need to know. I am an adult learner with very little musical experience, and Lily was so patient. Just learning to hold the bow and the violin is challenging, and It feels awkward at first, but Lily helped me feel confident that I can do it. I highly recommend Lily if you are looking for someone patient, kind, and skilled. Looking forward to many future lessons!

Very understanding

Lily is super patient with me even though I am new to reading sheet music and easily make mistakes in the notes. She is motivating and it is a great experience to have her as a teacher!

Lily is awesome she is really talented, very encouraging patient, helping me build confidence in my singing and teaching me the techniques to make singing easier. She made me feel really comfortable in our very first session. She was very patient and positive. I will definitely continue my lessons with her and I would also highly recommend Lily’s voice class .

Perfect fit

Lily started helping my teen daughter with A voice class. She is a great find as my daughter liked her instantly. My goal is that my daughter enjoys singing and she may learn the right techniques to help her sing in tune.
