My name is Avery Pereira and I am a community activist and a high school special education teacher. I have been tutoring and teaching for several years and I enjoy being in the classroom helping students achieve their goals and making sure they complete steps to succeed not only in the classroom, but also in the real world. My experience tutoring students has resulted in high success rates for students on their exams and overall grades.
My mother was a special education teacher for 15 years before she passed many years ago and I am seeking to be a full time teacher within the next year or so to carry on her legacy. My passion is driven through helping others become successful and proud of who they are and what they do. That is why I love teaching so much. I have been writing for many years and am currently in the process of writing a nonfiction book.
I graduated with a Master's in special education in 2021 and graduated with my Bachelor's in Political Science in 2019. I have been involved in political campaigns for the past several years and ran for city council in NYC in early 2023. I have traveled to 24 states and 14 countries throughout my lifetime and plan to travel to more in the years to come. I currently teach at a public high school in NYC and tutor US History/ Government to students near or far. I look forward to hearing from many of you and to help assist in anyway possible in regards to tutoring in my subjects of expertise. Each lesson will be informative, instructive, and even fun for all of us.
