My name is Andres M. I grew up in New York, and I have always loved mathematics. I've been a TA at UPenn and currently hold the title of "Master Teaching Assistant", so I help lead the TA training. Throughout my time as an undergraduate at Bard College, I was a mathematics teaching assistant in Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, and other related core mathematics courses. Additionally I was a college tutor for students, primarily in calculus. I have also served as a junior faculty member for math camps during college, where I taught middle school students in subjects ranging from graph theory to mathematical art. Finally, I was a private SAT II tutor and in the best case, raised a student's score by 250 points in under six months.

I am passionate about helping others organize and situate the material they learn efficiently so that they can focus on some more interesting aspects of their classes.

Following my College graduation, I participated in a one year research program at Yale University. I have recently completed my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania and will be entering a Postdoctoral position starting in January, 2025

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding how I may help a student mathematically at any level.

In addition to my listed subjects I can also help with introductory courses in

1. Abstract (Linear) Algebra
2. Abstract Algebra
3. Algebraic or General Topology
4. Real Analysis

To clarify on the lessons I have given on Wyzant:

They have been in algebraic topology, general topology, real analysis, and linear algebra so far.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have tutored students aging from late elementary school through early college in Algebra 1. I've also helped organize and run math circles fopr students aged between 9 and 13 years old.
Finite Math

Finite Math

Proofs and fundamentals was my first course in college, where we discussed elementary proof techniques, often testing them in the realm of combinatorics. As an undergraduate, I also took number theory, combinatorics, and courses studying the theory of finite groups (and their representations.) I have good knowledge of the arguments used in finite math and their mathematical formalism, and have used many of these techniques in research.
Logic

Logic

My first course in college was "proofs and fundamentals" and since then, I have been the TA for the course several times, all times obtaining glowing teaching reviews. I understand logic, set theory, symbolic logic, and parsing proof concepts very well (as I have taken now over twenty proof-based courses.) If you are interested in logic with a view towards proof-based mathematics, then I would be an excellent candidate for your tutor.

Beyond Outstanding and with Patience

Dear Math Student and Seeker of the best, It is my sincere delight to present to you my current and beyond outstanding tutor, Andres. We began our mathematical journey ten years ago. During this time he has taught me the following subjects: How to do Mathematical Proofs, Set Theory, Linear Algebra, Real Analysis, Complex Analysis, Introductory Group Theory, Point Set Topology, Mathematical Physics including the needed Differential Geometry for General Relativity and Diffy Q's for Quantum Theory, Functional Analysis, and finally, Operator Theory. We are planning on tackling Lie Groups, Field Theory for QFT, and Category Theory in the future. His knowledge base is unmatched. His preciseness is equally balanced by a patience and sense of humor not found in any of my previous five tutors. He can teach you whatever Mathematical Subject you desire. He has revealed to me the beauty of the world of Math. He is simply the best. Do not hesitate on this opportunity. Eric A. Peper
