Hi. Welcome to my profile. I have been a public school teacher for the last twenty three years, fully certified in the state of New York in elementary education (general education), secondary education (7-12 English Language Arts) and Gifted Education (preK-12) I taught elementary education for 17 years both gifted and talented and general education. In the last 6 years, I have been a middle School English Language Arts teacher with general, ESL, and special education populations. I also have experience teaching English language learners both in class and with various after school centers as well as adults.
My approach is interdisciplinary, I particularly love balanced literacy and using writing workshop even when teaching areas such as science and math. I believe in a whole language methodology rather than isolated lessons for certain skills, though I also know this can be useful for emphasizing and explaining in depth certain concepts. I love the written word and helping others find their voice through writing. I also love reading and hope to encourage and inspire others to feel the same.

I can help with basic through advanced reading, writing and math skills as well as science and social studies. I also have enjoyed working with adults to help in literacy and helping to express their ideas in papers needed for their own classes or other written pieces.

I also would love to help you with a paper or proofreading your own paper.
