Since I was a child, my lifelong craft has revolved around musical composition and expression of the piano in the classical arts. Mastery of this instrument has always been my greatest area of interest even prior to receiving specialized education for my musical career. In addition to performing at various recitals and concerts in China as well as the United States, my training as a National Pianist within the Shanghai Conservatory of Music has not only provided inspiration as a classically trained pianist, but also a great appreciation for the fundamental tenets of pedagogy.
Extending my education in the United States has only reinforced my affinity for serving as an educator. From my experience teaching music to children (5-8 years old) as a Carnegie-Mellon University student employee, to auditing in the New York City Educational System, I have found that musical education for children to be especially fulfilling, and also necessary in order to preserve the classical arts. Having secured my specialization as a classical pianist, I aim to provide a structured and progressive curriculum to students of all levels, referencing from my experiences from Manhattan School of Music and Shanghai Conservatory of Music. I look forward to teaching more students and enjoy the musical life!

As a piano instructor, i'm good at teaching beginners from age 4 to adult. Teaching beginners, it needs patience, repetition, simplify things, being creative and fun. Beyond that, I also find myself passionate about teaching advanced students - enjoy the flow of music that my students play and teach them to get better no matter on techniques or the musical part.
