Hi, I’m Anna, and I’m excited to share my love of learning with you. I graduated from a small liberal arts college with a B.A. in Globalization Studies and a minor in Spanish Language and Latin American Studies. I am currently pursuing a master’s program in Elementary Education and K-12 Foreign Language Education. I have always been passionate about education, as it connects us to our global community and keeps us moving forward. As a teacher, I foster students’ curiosity, build on the unique strengths of each student, and motivate students to take on academic challenges, with the view that the sky is the limit.
I currently teach in a bilingual elementary school setting, focusing on Spanish as well as other K-6 subjects. I love sparking an early interest in Spanish Language and world cultures, as well as the art of clear self-expression and exploration through reading and writing. In the past two years, I have also learned a new approach to teaching Elementary level math, which has revolutionized my own thinking about the subject, and I would be excited to share that with a student struggling in math.
I am also experienced in working with teens, adolescents and adults. I spent one year working as an ESL tutor and teacher in rural Argentina, through which I also taught Social Studies, Literature and other subjects to high school aged and adult English Language Learners. I am passionate about inspiring students to recognize their own individual strengths and helping them realize that with hard work and an open mind, anything is possible.
As someone who has been a bookworm since a young age, I have always flourished in reading and writing, and I believe in the importance of clear and eloquent communication, self-expression and storytelling. I work with students to find joy in clearly expressing their ideas, and to build flexibility and persistence. Additionally, I have over a year of experience working one on one and in small groups with ESL/ESOL students, and, having learned a second language myself,
