Hi! My name is Hana and I am a professional in the non-profit field, where I work with UN agency writing for a living. I received my B.A. from NYU with a double major in English and American Literature and Middle Eastern Studies, where I graduated with honors. I have a Master's Degree in Human Rights Studies from Columbia University.
I have been working in the humanitarian space for 12 years and am passionate about helping students who struggle with reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. I can also help with SAT/ACT/Regents test prep. I can tutor students in history as well and in current events. I speak Arabic and can provide lessons to students who wish to learn the basics of the Arabic language. I have experience teaching English to refugee youth.
I grew up speaking Arabic in the home and took lessons throughout childhood, as well as for 3 years in college.
I am an English nerd! I majored in English and American Literature and enjoy writing poetry in my free time. I scored highly on the writing section of my SAT back in high school. I am happy to provide writing samples upon request.
