Hello! Thank you for checking out my profile. I've worked in the test prep/application prep industry for 15 years, helping students across the globe get into their top-choice schools. I graduated with honors from the University of Texas Austin with a BFA in Theatre Studies and a minor in English. After graduation, I went on to complete my MFA in Acting at the Yale School of Drama. Coming from a performing arts background, I strive to make the test prep process as fun and engaging as possible, developing meaningful relationships with students while getting great results.
I started tutoring after grad school, and since then, I've worked as the Head Tutor at two of New York's most prestigious boutique companies, focusing primarily on high-end New York and international clients, guiding them through the standardized testing and college application process. I've travelled internationally to work with students, and my skills range from hiring and training new tutors to college counseling to running application essay workshops and developing new curricula for college prep classes.
I'm also an accomplished screenwriter and playwright. My screenplay was selected for the 2018 Black List of Hollywood's favorite unproduced screenplays. I was also a recent member of the Ars Nova Playgroup and Primary Stages New American Writers Group, and my plays have been developed across the country. When I'm not tutoring or writing, or helping other people write, I spend time with my wife and 7-year-old daughter in Brooklyn. Occasionally, I have time to do yoga, meditate, or jog.
