My desire to tutor and teach comes from a genuine love for interacting with others, and a strong desire to impact the way people will think in the times ahead. As a member of the National History Honor Society, I know that hard, good work, and dedication can really pay off.

I have a lot of experience in writing essays, and therefore grammar too. Also, my degree is in history, so I do specialize in that field. The best word that would describe my teaching style (for history, writing and grammar) is patience. There are numerous rules and devices when it comes to writing and grammar. With history, there can be an overload of information that can be very overwhelming without some way of knowing of processing it. In all of these subjects, I encourage students to take the time they need to think through a given passage of a history text, or a paragraph, sentence, or phrase to dissect and learn from it. It is about finding what skills a tutee already posses, what skills are needed, taking the time to develop those skills, and then increase speed of those skills through repeated use.

During my time in school and out of school, I have written hundreds of essays and articles. So composing essays and editing other people's writing over the past eight years has given me lots of experience in writing that has allowed me to come up with a very simple three-step process that will help you increase your comfort and confidence in writing. Along with my writing, I studied the language of Latin, which is the ultimate grammar teacher. And through my experience with Latin, I would be able to go beyond the punctuation level and can also teach about word order, subject-verb agreement and voice.

While my degree in History has allowed me to engage in historical thought at a deeper level than those without a History degree, my very high level of comfort in talking with others about history has helped others understand their ideas better. While studying history, I always try to get students to understand the skills they learn through s

American History

American History

Due to my work as a history student at Ursinus College, I became a member of Phi Alpha Theta, The National History Honors Society. My senior thesis paper was in American History. My senior thesis paper focused on President Woodrow Wilson's decision making process during World War I, and what led to our military entry in 1917, three years after the war began. When I tutor in history, I asses students' critical reading skills, support and help with what skills they exactly need help with, and encourage students to think like the people they are studying.
Grammar

Grammar

I attended Bard High School Early College in New York City. This is an early college high school, so I learned and have used college-level writing and grammar since the age of 14. A foundational part of my grammar training comes from my experience learning Latin. Studying Latin has given me direct exposure to sentence structure, which is where I start when teaching grammar. Knowing the significance of a subject, verb and a direct object (amongst other important pieces in a sentence) is essential for grammar. My grammar skills helped me have a very successful undergraduate career, which resulted in me becoming part of Phi Alpha Theta, The National History Honors Society.
World History

World History

During my time as a history student, my studies ranged across the world. I studied many historical subjects that ranged from Europe and the Soviet Bloc during the Balkan Wars to the history of Ancient Chinese Philosophy. My work in these classes resulted into my membership to Phi Alpha Theta, The National History Honors Society. I also studied abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, which enabled me to really understand how different nations can study the same historical subject in different ways. Having this experience in knowing how other countries engage and study history will absolutely be of service to anyone needing World History tutoring.
Writing

Writing

One of my qualifications for this subject is that my proficient skill in writing earned me membership into Phi Alpha Theta, The National History Honors Society. I have tutored writing at my high school in the past and have recently begun since graduating college. I have been writing college-level essays since the age of 14, and I have an easy to understand 3-step process to create an essay.
