I am an award-winning teacher and tutor with 26 years of experience in the field of English Language and Literacy. I am adept at working with linguistically, culturally, and educationally diverse students of all ages. One of the greatest joys of my life is that moment when a bright light goes on in my students' eyes and they understand something that previously baffled them.
I demystify difficult concepts, and both patiently and skillfully guide students to meet and exceed their goals and aspirations. I am excellent at helping students to read, write, listen, and speak better than they ever have before. I also am outstanding at proofreading and correcting writing. I am the former director of one of the adult learning centers of The New York Public Library. I currently supervise a literacy center in Brooklyn.
What makes me an outstanding English tutor is my ability to inspire my students to be excellent where they previously lacked confidence.

For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
