I have been teaching for over 25 years at the High School level in my country Guyana as well as in Botswana for 6 years. I have a great passion for teaching and molding young minds to become vibrant leaders in their unique pursuits in life.
My approach to teaching is student-centered with a strong emphasis on motivational and innovative methodologies to the teaching-learning experience. Every student I view as a worthy and prestigious client whose potential I seek to harness and develop to the maximum. I always find the journey exhilarating and highly rewarding so I put everything into it. The student's success is my greatest reward.
I have taught a variety of subjects--English, Literature, Geography and Caribbean Social Studies at the national and regional levels. Then I taught Moral Education in Botswana at the Community Junior Secondary level. Their final exams are British based. I had over 90% pass rate. I have also taught students privately on the parent's request with very good passes. I have acquired a Trained Secondary School Teacher's Certificate, A B.A. [major in Geography, Minor English] and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education Administration. I completed High School with 5 Subjects at the GCE Examinations.
I arrived in the USA in December 2012 and am awaiting to be certified. I look forward with great anticipation to tutoring and teaching American students immediately. I live in Canarsie, Brooklyn.
