Hello! I'm Michael, a multi-subject tutor with a focus in Art and Computer Literacy.

A bit about me: I’ve been various types of tutor over the past 12 years, often teaching standard school subjects but also introducing people to database scripting, drawing and martial arts. The main throughline that I enjoy is seeing people grow in competency with improved understanding of concepts and tools.

I took up drawing from early on and have worked professionally in a freelance capacity, providing custom images, illustrations and promotional materials. I've been a professional Storyboard Artist for 5 years now and offer lessons in drawing and animation fundamentals as well as Adobe Creative Suite and Blender.

I have always enjoyed teaching. I've provided educational support to children, peers and older adults on a range of subjects, from verbal skills and mathematics to various software types. I find the growth and development of those learning from me immensely satisfying, and I value each opportunity to advance new understanding. As a tutor, I apply this passion and my own accomplishments to boost performance and cultivate personal and professional growth.

Learning is a unique, individual experience, so I tailor my approach for each student's specific challenges and strengths; I then work with them on how best to build on those strengths and fill in those knowledge gaps. In a general sense, I advocate hands-on learning, guiding students to their own understanding through the exploration of root concepts; this allows lessons learned to be applied across a greater range of questions and challenges.
