About Rueben

I have trained and privately tutored people for financial industry exams for over 20 years. I am comfortable providing tutoring for the Series 3, 4, 9/10, 11, 24, 53, 55, 63, 65, 66, and 79 exams. Unfortunately, most books that are available for the exams are not easy to understand. With the methods that I use, people can answer questions more efficiently. If students are not sure where they need help, I would review practice questions with them to clarify what areas need improvement.

In addition, some students need help on learning all of the information required to pass the exams. My method of teaching makes logical sense assuming that students know nothing before they work with me. I would tell students what to work on in between sessions and be able to pass the exam in reasonable time. If you are interested, I look forward to working with you.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Series 63

I have trained and tutored people for over 20 years on the Series 63. I am a partner of a stockbroker training institute.

When training people for the Series 63, I emphasize that the wording of the questions can be extremely tricky although there is not much information on the exam. I focus on the differences between broker-dealers and investment advisers, agents and investment adviser representatives, as well as exempt securities versus exempt transactions. Once students understand these critical differences, they have a much better opportunity of answering questions precisely.

Series 7

I have trained and tutored people for over 20 years on the Series 7. I am a partner of a stockbroker training institute.

There is a tremendous amount of information that may be tested on the Series 7 exam. Most people require assistance on learning about bonds and options. I usually offer much simpler techniques in answering questions correctly on those subjects. In addition, I can offer people assistance on how to answer questions regarding stop and limit orders, margin, securities analysis, and investment banking. I also can clarify the many rules and regulations students have to learn.

Most importantly, many students need training on how to improve test taking skills. Many students come in taking the test without financial background or having experience in taking standardized exams. I offer students approaches on how to recognize what is most important in each question in order for them to understand what the questions are asking for.
