Greetings, my name is Gordon S. I have taught English in the New York City school system 23 years. I find every year new and fun and challenging. I strive to incorporate music, arts and technology in my teaching. I hope to instill in every student the awareness that every one has a special unique and powerful voice in their writing and in their lives. I have always tried to make teaching relevant and exciting and have always worked with very challenging, at risk, inner city children. I have taught all grades in middle and high school.
I have a background in music as a singer and songwriter. Last year I ran an after school program where students wrote and recorded their own songs. We created a wonderful mix of rap, pop, rock and bachata songs that culminated in every succesful performance in our auditorium. I think I would be an excellent tutor for any English grade level.
