As a former Academic Dean, Director of Special Education, and School Literacy Specialist in New York and Chicago schools, I am passionate about supporting young students in reading, writing and math. I believe that my number one job as an educator is to help kids fall in love with learning, especially reading. As a teacher and school administrator, I worked in schools for over a decade and led our students to achieve the highest reading and math scores in our district. As a Director of Special Education and Literacy Specialist, I developed IEPs for students and supported teachers and students in meeting their goals through small group instruction and differentiating classroom lessons. A graduate from Northwestern University, I hold a masters degree in Early Childhood Education and have coached teachers all over the world in their classroom instruction, including training teachers in the programs Teach For America and Teach for India. I am currently a writer for a well regarded national literacy curriculum and lead professional development for teachers nationwide including, but not limited to those in Chicago Public Schools, New York City Public Schools, New Hampshire, and Tennessee.

While I specialize in Elementary learning, I tutor middle school clients as well. I believe that tutoring sessions should be supportive, focused and fun. Confidence plays a large role in student success, and I am here not only to teach your children, but to be their cheerleader. I truly believe that helping students fall in love with reading, is one of the most important things we can do as educators.

I strongly believe that all students can achieve academic success with the right support. As a former Director of Special Education, I coached Speech and Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Learning Specialists and have a strong background in differentiating lessons to meet students needs.
