I am a working graphic artist and experienced instructor from Providence, Rhode Island. I hold a BFA in Illustration from Parsons School of Design. I am an Adobe Certified Master in Adobe Illustrator and will be taking the Photoshop certification test soon. I truly value learning and have taken continuing education courses at Rhode Island School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. I am committed to engaging students and providing a comfortable environment conducive to learning and self expression.
For 3 years I worked for United Cerebral Palsy of Rhode Island's award-winning Adaptive Arts Program. I taught adults with a variety of disabilities in both classroom and hospital settings. At some times I would be managing a large group project, such as a collaborative drawing and at others I would be working one on one with someone on a very personal piece. I am very patient and comfortable teaching ALL ages and levels of experience.
For my day job I work as a graphic artist in the fashion industry with a focus on surface design and packaging. I am an expert on creating CADs and repeat prints in both Photoshop and Illustrator. I have 10 years experience with the Creative Suite from CS2 to Creative Cloud.
I will provide you with a write up of your lesson so you can review and practice on your own. Let me know what you would like to cover prior to the lesson, and what you know so far and I can create a lesson plan and prepare some files ahead of time.

Danielle is a great teacher! I did a two-hour Illustrator lesson with her and learned a ton during that time. She had a plan for where to start and a couple exercises ready to go, but was also flexible with tailoring them to my interests and knowledge level. She can work between Mac and PC, is patient and clear, and adjusted the speed as needed. Couldn't recommend her more highly!
It was a pleasure to have Danielle as a tutor. She was eager to help and teach me the skills that I wanted to gain. Danielle has the ability to explain complex concepts into very simple ones and her follow up of the class was great! I only had an hour with her but I learned a lot - I'd definitely recommend her!
Danielle is extremely knowledgeable about photoshop. She devised a lesson tailored to my needs as a traditional artist. I had pencil drawings that I needed to digitize and manipulate. A true professional, she knew exactly what to do. Furthermore, her instructions were extremely clear, and we accomplished a great deal, making the lesson very cost effective. She has a gift for adjusting the speed of her instruction according to what the student is able to handle. At no point did I feel rushed or overwhelmed; nor did I ever feel the lesson lagged. The lesson exceeded expectations! I learned precisely the information I was seeking , and more, in a way that was enjoyable and interesting. I will definitely be taking additional lessons with Danielle!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
