I have been formally trained in SAT (2018), ACT, GED/TASC tutoring. My SAT prep students have generally increased their scores 200-300 points from before working with me to test day.

As an artist and media professional, I am fluent in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, and other softwares. I work with students from community colleges through renowned art schools such as Parsons in New York City and professional artists.

I also work with high school and college students who struggle with executive dysfunction. This can lead to academic problems and increased anxiety if one gets behind on coursework.

I am have my Masters Degree in Adolescent Education. I left K-12 teaching and have been teaching on the college level for the last 7+ years. I recently relocated to the Atlanta metro area and am available for sessions locally or online. Due to Covid-19, I am strongly encouraging online lessons.

Macintosh

Macintosh

My first Mac experience was in 1991 with OS 6.0. Throughout the years, I studied and adapted as the OS and hardware improved. From 2003-2005, I worked for Apple Computer in Soho in regards to sales, customer service and training. From 2005-2008, I worked for Apple resellers with software and hardware support for the photography industry. I can help you from the basics of "how do I find my pictures on this computer" to more complex troubleshooting concerns. Thank you and I hope to hear from you soon.
Painting

Painting

I majored in studio art in my undergraduate studies which required numerous painting classes. In addition, in my MFA Photography program, we were expected to take courses outside of our discipline as well. I took a number of painting classes. In addition, we've been doing various 20th century literature projects and connecting them to events in history.

Great Lesson.

Larissa is very knowledgable in her field and has the patience to pass that along to a newbie like me. We were able to do a zoom call and share screens which was cool. Thanks for the help!

Excellent Tutor For Adobe Lightroom!

Larissa helped me get off the ground with LR as I knew nothing going in. We had to think out of the box a bit to navigate through some of the challenges doing this remotely on my iPad, as well as a couple of challenges with my Zoom account. But as her account indicates, she is patient, which came in handy with an old timer like me! I felt confident that after we were done, I clearly understood the basics. I highly recommend Larissa as a tutor.

knew her stuff great and explained clearly and logically

completely knew photoshop and understand how I needed to do it, in other words she listened to my needs. Explained everything clearly and paid attention to how well I did or did not absorb it and had me walk thru it again. One of the better teachers I have had on an already great platform!

Excellent teacher

I have been a student of Larissa's for over ten sessions. As a teacher, she does not over-complicate the material - rather she explains clearly and is patient when review or repetition is necessary. She has the great quality of being able to say she doesn't know everything about Photoshop, but she certainly know a LOT. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to navigate Photoshop.

Lovely personality in addition to being a fantastic tutor

Larissa is very patient and an astute teacher-- she knows how to offer information clearly and when to encourage me to work or try tasks on my own. She is personable and a joy with whom to work.

Good teacher.

Larissa helped me get started on Lightroom Classic. I had been having trouble getting started but Larissa helped me navigate the platform and set me up with some practice homework to reinforce what I learnt. Looking forward to our next meeting.
