Having completed both my Master of Science (4.0 GPA) and Bachelor of Science (3.88 GPA) in Chemical Engineering at NYU Tandon, along with graduating from Hunter College High School, I bring a strong background in analytical problem-solving and academic achievement to my tutoring. Scoring a 35 on the ACT and navigating rigorous university STEM curricula taught me that true mastery comes from understanding underlying concepts rather than memorizing formulas. I specialize in helping high school and college students build that same intuitive confidence across High School Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Mathematics (Algebra through Calculus), and ACT Math and Science prep.

Over the past several years, my teaching experience has spanned classroom instruction, small group leadership, and targeted one-on-one mentoring. As a university Teaching Assistant in NYU's Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, I mentored senior engineering students, authored original exam problems, and led weekly office hours for groups of up to 60 undergraduates. I have worked with a wide range of age groups, from high school students preparing for standardized tests to college seniors tackling advanced kinetics and lab design. My industry background as a working chemical engineer also allows me to connect abstract classroom concepts to practical, real-world applications.

My tutoring approach centers on active, student-led problem-solving tailored to individual learning styles. Rather than passively lecturing, I guide students through key examples, helping them spot common test traps, break down multi-step calculations, and develop efficient pacing strategies for high-stakes exams like the ACT. Whether a student is struggling to keep up with college organic chemistry or aiming for a top-percentile ACT score, I customize every session to align with their school syllabus and personal goals to ensure long-term academic success.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 2

Algebra 2

During my time as a high school and university student, I have often had to use core principles in Algebra 2. I have a lot of experience in applying and teaching math. Algebra 2 introduced concepts such as exponentiation and logarithms, which I use day to day in my engineering work.
Calculus

Calculus

As a chemical engineer, calculus is key to any sort of model we make. Having taken calculus up to and including calculus 3, as well as differential equations, I have a strong understanding of the subject and its applications in the real world.
Chemical Engineering

Chemical Engineering

I hold both a Bachelor’s (3.88 GPA) and Master’s (4.00 GPA) in Chemical Engineering from NYU Tandon, where my graduate research focused on reaction kinetics and plasma electrochemistry. My teaching experience includes serving as a university Teaching Assistant for Graduate Kinetics & Reactor Design, Senior Engineering Lab, and Polymeric Materials, where I co-authored course notes, graded reports, and mentored students through complex unit operations. Beyond academia, I have worked professionally as a Chemical Engineer at Leidos and a Process Engineering Intern at Texas Instruments, applying core principles of mass transport, thermodynamics, and material formulation in real-world environments. I leverage this combination of academic rigor, industry experience, and teaching background to help students master challenging Chemical Engineering coursework, complex math modeling, and technical data analysis in MATLAB or Python.
Chemistry

Chemistry

Having studied Organic Chemistry since high school at Hunter and earning an A in college Orgo II alongside an NYU Chemical Engineering M.S. (4.0 GPA), I bring deep conceptual mastery to the subject. My expertise is backed by published research in organic reaction mechanics, analytical characterization (GC-MS), and university Teaching Assistant experience. Beyond formal TA roles, I have years of 1-on-1 tutoring experience helping both high school and university students master challenging material. I specialize in making complex reaction mechanisms, synthesis pathways, and AP/college chemistry problems intuitive and straightforward to solve.

Physics

Physics

Throughout my undergraduate and masters degree, understanding physics was integral to success. My teaching experience serving as a university Teaching Assistant for Graduate Kinetics & Reactor Design and Polymeric Materials involved a lot of physics knowledge, as entropy and enthalpy are critical in understanding chemical processes. I also performed extremely well in the university physics course I had to take on waves, optics, and thermodynamics, getting perfect scores on the midterm and final. I will aim to boil down physics to the essential formulas you need to know (and how to derive them).
