I'm Mohammad, a Stony Brook biology graduate and Brooklyn Tech alum currently studying for the MCAT. I scored at the mastery level on every Regents exam and have spent years tutoring middle school, high school and college students in calculus, biology, chemistry and writing.

My tutoring started at Brooklyn Tech helping classmates through organic chemistry, then continued at CUNY and Stony Brook, where I built my own group of private clients.

Every student gets stuck in a different place, so I find exactly where the confusion starts and rebuild from there. In math, that means making sure the algebra foundation is solid before moving on. In science, I use real-world examples and practice questions at or slightly above exam level. In writing, I help students organize their ideas and strengthen their arguments.

I tutor online or in person anywhere in Brooklyn and Staten Island. My goal is for you to leave every session ready for your next exam, with study habits you'll keep using long after.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

Algebra is where many students decide they're "bad at math," and it's almost never true. Usually a few early gaps make everything after feel impossible. I find those gaps first, then build up through equations, graphing, systems and factoring. I went through Brooklyn Tech's math sequence and have tutored middle school, high school and college students for several years, so I know exactly where students get stuck. I tutor online or in person in NYC and potentially close by, and sessions are built around your actual homework, tests and the Regents.
Biology

Biology

I've completed my biology degree at Stonybrook University. It included very rigorous courses such as molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and others. As a pre-med, I've trained to also be able to apply these concepts in very intense testing settings. I've also built many study and test taking methods I feel I could pass on to students to help them apply concepts they just learned.
Elementary Math

Elementary Math

Qualifications: I am a Brooklyn Technical High School graduate and Stony Brook University alum with a strong math background, and I have tutored students from middle school through college for several years. I specialize in building strong foundations in arithmetic, fractions, decimals, place value and word problems, since gaps in these early skills are what cause students to struggle later in algebra and beyond. I break concepts into small, clear steps and use visual models and real-life examples so younger students understand why the math works, not just how to get the answer. I am patient and encouraging, and I focus on building each student's confidence along with their skills.
Prealgebra

Prealgebra

I am a Brooklyn Technical High School graduate and Stony Brook University alum, and I have tutored middle school, high school and college students in math for several years. I cover the core prealgebra skills students need before Algebra 1, including integers and negative numbers, fractions and decimals, order of operations, ratios and proportions, and solving one- and two-step equations. I place special focus on word problems, teaching students to translate each phrase into an equation step by step so they stop guessing which operation to use. I also target the common mistakes that cost students points, such as sign errors and order of operations mix-ups, so their skills hold up on tests.
Precalculus

Precalculus

Precalc throws a lot at you at once: functions, trig, logs, the unit circle. Fall behind on one and it snowballs. As a Brooklyn Tech alum and Stony Brook biology grad currently studying for the MCAT, I use this math constantly and know which topics matter most going into Calculus. I focus on why things work, so you aren't memorizing formulas the night before. Available online or in person in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Psychology

Psychology

Psychology terms and theories blur together fast: conditioning, research methods, brain structures, developmental stages. I'm studying psychology daily as part of MCAT prep, and my Stony Brook biology degree gives me a strong grasp of the neuroscience side. I help students organize concepts so they stick, using real examples and exam-style questions. I work with high school, AP and intro college students, online or in person in Brooklyn and Staten Island.
Writing

Writing

As a Biology student with extensive writing and peer-reviewing experience, I bring a very analytical eye to the writing process. My creative work has been selected for competitive local and nationwide contests, giving me great insight into what makes writing stand out. Whether you need help breaking down complex research, refining an essay, or mastering narrative structure, or just help with writer's block, I help students craft clear, persuasive, and polished pieces.
