As an educator with years of experience across New York City classrooms and higher education institutions, my goal is simple: to make complex ideas accessible and build the confidence students need to excel independently. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and History, Master’s degrees in Special Education and Educational Leadership, and several New York State teaching certifications. Over my career, I have taught Composition as an Adjunct Lecturer at John Jay College and New York City College of Technology, worked as a NYC high school teacher, and supported students with diverse learning needs. This background allows me to support students across all grade levels in Social Sciences, Humanities, STEM, state exam and Regents prep, and bilingual Arabic instruction. I truly believe that every student can succeed when given the right tools, empathy, and personalized support.
My approach to tutoring centers on individualized, active learning rather than passive repetition. Having worked extensively with Students with Disabilities, English Language Learners, and college freshmen, I recognize that no two students process information the same way. I break down complicated concepts into clear, manageable steps, using scaffolded instruction, real-world examples, and targeted feedback. Whether preparing a student for a high stakes state exam or guiding someone through college level writing, I focus on building long term study habits and academic resilience.
I have taught learners of virtually every age group over the last six years, from middle and high school students to college undergraduates. Whether in one on one sessions, small groups, or virtual settings, I foster an encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I look forward to partnering with you to achieve your academic goals.
