I am a statistician and data scientist with advanced training in biostatistics from Yale University. My academic and professional experience includes statistics, probability, algebra, calculus, linear algebra, R, Python, and data science. I have applied these skills across a variety of fields, including clinical trials, biomedical research, insurance, technology, and education. This experience allows me to help students not only understand statistical formulas, but also see how these concepts are used to answer real-world questions.
During my doctoral training, I taught several graduate-level courses in clinical trial statistics. These courses covered topics such as probability, statistical inference, likelihood theory, hypothesis testing, sample-size calculations, regression, and survival analysis. I have also provided one-on-one statistics tutoring to undergraduate students. I am comfortable working with students who are encountering statistics for the first time, as well as students taking more advanced undergraduate or graduate courses.
My tutoring approach is patient, practical, and tailored to each student. I focus on breaking complicated ideas into clear, manageable steps and explaining the reasoning behind each method rather than simply memorizing formulas. When appropriate, I use examples, visual explanations, and statistical software to help students connect the mathematics to the underlying concepts. Whether you need help preparing for an exam, completing an assignment, learning R or Python, or understanding the statistical methods used in a research project, my goal is to help you become more confident and independent in your work.
