Hello Everyone! I am a current Cornell Junior and graduate of Stuyvesant High School. I offer assistance with biology, psychology, and writing for students up to high school. I am currently pursuing a human biology major and thus am very well versed in the topic. I have experience dealing with many high pressure examinations and preparing for college admissions. I have many test taking strategies to share and remember the content very well. I am excited to work with students and help them reach their goals. I have had intelligent professors who are not the best at sharing their wisdom and I have had those who are incredible at teaching. I aim to emulate the latter, using my own experiences and by listening to the needs of my students. I am especially prepared to teach biology and psychology content as I have taken many college courses on the subjects, expanding on what I learned in high school. My research experience has also helped me strengthen skills for lab reports, writing scientific literature, and understanding methods. I have also been told I am great at providing feedback on writing and have taken numerous English courses. I can assist with a variety of writing genres- whether it is for a class or application. I have written creative nonfiction, creative fiction, persuasive essays, book analyses, and more. If students need help with college applications I also have a lot of insight to share from both writing and reflecting on my own essays.
I have a great record with AP examinations. I have scored 5 on biology, psychology, spanish, and calculus AB. Furthermore, I took these tests all in one year so I can teach students about time management and how to prepare for several exams simultaneously. I have also received As in both my college and high school biology, psychology, and calculus courses. I have frequently assisted peers with studying and have tutored younger students as well, such as middle school or high school age. I hope I can help students the way some of my best mentors have helped me.
