Hello! My name is Lauren, and I graduated Cum Laude from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Going through school, I always learned best when I broke things down into their components. Starting with the basics, especially on more complicated problems, allowed me to get a good grasp of the concepts behind the problem, and from there, I was not only able to apply them to future problems but also have an understanding of why that solution works. I use this same approach in my tutoring, making sure my students are able to break down problems and understand the concepts behind them.
Throughout college, I actively tutored in physics as well as in civil engineering specialty topics such as structural analysis, statics, and soil mechanics. Over the two years I was in these tutoring positions, I participated in a variety of different tutoring sessions, including one-on-one meetings, group lessons, and exam reviews. In these positions, I also tutored a variety of students, from engineers to writers, I was able to tailor the lessons to accommodate their prior knowledge and help them succeed.
I want the students I work with to be able to succeed with any problems they face, and I am more than happy to make any accommodations or adjustments to make that happen. I also welcome feedback so that in the future I am able to make any necessary adjustments to help achieve students' success. Please reach out to me with any questions or to schedule a lesson!
