Hi! I’m a certified special education teacher in NYC public schools with 7 years of experience supporting students in grades 1–5. I specialize in helping students build confidence and close skill gaps in both reading and math through structured, research-based instruction.
I hold an Elementary Math Specialist degree and have deep knowledge of grade-level standards, scope, and sequence. I also have a strong background in literacy instruction and have earned a Science of Reading certificate through the AIM Institute. I’m particularly experienced in supporting struggling readers with word recognition, fluency, and comprehension.
In addition to my classroom experience, I hold a School Building Leader certificate, which reflects my expertise in curriculum, data-driven instruction, and individualized support.
My sessions are tailored to each student’s needs and may include:
Explicit, systematic reading instruction aligned with the Science of Reading
Targeted support in phonics, decoding, and comprehension
Math intervention focused on foundational skills and problem-solving
Strategies to support students with IEPs or learning differences
Ongoing progress monitoring and parent communication
I strive to create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel successful and motivated to grow.
I’m available Tuesdays, Thursdays, and select weekends, and I work with students virtually or in person (depending on location).
