I'm a former New York City public school teacher with a Master's in Teaching Literature from Bard College and six years of classroom experience. I know what the Regents expects, what the SAT rewards, and what admissions officers remember. More importantly, I know what New York City parents are really asking: Is my child keeping up? Are they ready? Are they being seen?

I'm a former New York City public school teacher with a Master's in Teaching Literature from Bard College and six years of classroom experience. I know what the Regents expects, what the SAT rewards, and what admissions officers remember. More importantly, I know what New York City parents are really asking: Is my child keeping up? Are they ready? Are they being seen?
The answer is almost always yes. They just need the right person to show them how. Strong writing is not a talent you are born with. It is a skill, and I teach it with high expectations and no shortcuts.
I specialize in English Literature and essay writing, helping students find their voice on the page and use it to open doors. My students have wrestled with Their Eyes Were Watching God and The Great Gatsby. They've gone on to write the essays that got them into top high schools, competitive colleges, and graduate programs.
The students who find me are already capable thinkers. What they need is someone to translate that thinking onto the page. Disorganized writing becomes a clear argument. Vague ideas become a compelling case. Anxiety becomes confidence.
The stakes are high, and I treat them that way. My students learn to think clearly, argue persuasively, and write with the kind of confidence that gets noticed by teachers, by admissions officers, and by themselves.
