Hi, I'm Connor! I'm recent graduate of Middlebury College, where I majored in Classics and Literary Studies (Multi-lingual and World Literature, essentially). I'm a student at the University of Cambridge, where I'll be earning a masters in Classics next year. My specialization is in Greco-Roman culture and religion, specifically through the lens of ancient poetry, but I am very well versed in prose composition and history as well. I am ready and able to teach a variety of languages, including French and Italian, although Latin and Ancient Greek are my bread and butter. I'm also a passionate student and teacher of literature, writing and fine art.

I've worked as a college level tutor in Latin and Greek at Middlebury the past few years (both one-on-one and in group settings), but I'm quite flexible and more than willing to tutor younger kids/teens (Percy Jackson enthusiasts are more than welcome). My teaching style when it comes to languages tends to be based in composition and translation exercises with depth walk-throughs, learning and solidifying skills and recognition in order to build fluency. Generally, I like to keep a relaxed attitude with my students and rely on positive reinforcement and broader understanding of language structures-- getting to the root of why language functions as it does, and not just drilling a set of rules. Especially with ancient languages, I also like to enhance lessons with historical background, culture and history, in order to understand the meaning behind texts and structures, and situate them in real life, and history not just inside a textbook.
