I’m Said! I am currently a Biological Sciences major in my final semester of college and will be starting dental school this upcoming fall. My academic background has given me a strong foundation in science and math, which I now use to help students better understand subjects that often feel overwhelming at first. Through my education, I have taken extensive coursework in biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry, and math, and I am very comfortable teaching these subjects at the high school and college level.

For the past two years, I have worked as a Master Tutor at the Student Academic Consulting Center at Baruch College, where I have tutored students in algebra, biology, general chemistry, and organic chemistry. I have worked with a wide range of students, including recent high school graduates, current college students, and adult learners returning to school. My experience includes one on one tutoring, recitation classes with 10-15 students, and weekly Baruch Academic Rebound appointments for students who previously failed or withdrew from the course. These students met with me weekly throughout the semester to go over the course material, and all of my BAR students successfully passed the course after completing our sessions.

My tutoring approach focuses on setting a clear and achievable goal for each session. I first assess what the student understands and where they are struggling, and then we focus on those specific areas. I believe that retention is very important, so at the end of each session I ask students to explain the concept back to me in their own words to make sure they truly understand the material. My goal as a tutor is not just to help students finish their homework, but to help them become more confident and independent in their learning.
