Hi, I'm Edith! I am a graduate of Harvard University with a B.A. in Molecular and Cellular Biology, a Rhodes Scholarship finalist, and an incoming doctoral student at the University of Oxford. I specialize in tutoring biology, chemistry, math, SAT/ACT preparation, and college admissions strategy, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence while developing a genuine understanding of the material they are studying.
I have several years of experience mentoring and teaching students ranging from elementary school through high school. Most of my work takes place in one-on-one settings, where I support students with STEM coursework, standardized test preparation, and highly selective college admissions, including mock interviews and application strategy. I have also led academic workshops through programs such as Harvard Model Congress and IvyLEAD Academy, working with high school students on leadership, public speaking, and analytical thinking.
In addition to private tutoring, I have classroom teaching experience. I served as a Teaching Fellow with Summer Science Program International, where I taught a two-month intensive college-level biochemistry course for advanced high school students (ages 15 to 17). I have also contributed to science education more broadly as Content Lead and Co-Author for the Operation Outbreak Outbreak Science textbook and through curriculum development for John and Hank Green's Crash Course: Outbreak Science series.
My tutoring approach focuses on building real understanding rather than short-term memorization. I break down complex concepts into clear steps, adapt to each student's learning style, and help students develop study strategies they can use independently long after our sessions end.
